According to the customs, China’s pork imports registered 106,300 MT in Jan. ~ Oct., of which 22,200 MT were from the USA, down 69.4% and 87% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
The State Bureau of Quality Inspection & Quarantine has recently lifted the ban on US, Canadian and Mexican pork.
BOABC considers that the lift of the ban on North American Pork is not likely to induce swelling pork imports, since China’s hog market is ruled by a surplus and brood sow inventory is large.
