The State Council has recently decided to cut fertilizer export tax during the slack season of consumption and extend the duration of low-tax export period in 2010. The details are as the follows:
The slack season of urea consumption is defined as Jan., July 1 ~ Sep. 15, and Oct. 16 ~ Dec. 31, two weeks more than the previous year. The slack season of DAP and MAP consumption is defined as Jan., June ~ Aug., and Oct. 16 ~ Dec. 31, six months and a half in all.
The export tax is reduced from 10% to 7% during the slack season of urea, DAP and MAP consumption, but during the busy season of consumption the existing policy on export base prices, tax rate (35%) and special tax (75%) remains unchanged.
